Sex::Tech presents the Field Reports Track
We're proud to present the new Field Reports track for 2011's Sex::Tech! The Field Reports track presents in-depth reports on interesting and creative work in the area of sexual health and new media, with lessons learned in the field, interactive examples, and any promising results.
Last year we had a wonderful presentation in the Innovations track that we'd like to showcase as a great example of the kind of material that makes our new Field Reports track really shine. Exhale is an organization which helps support women who have gone through abortions. They field many calls on their crisis line every day, but wanted to create more ongoing support. Kristin Schultz Oliver talked about founding a private online community for which hotline staff screen membership for women who had had abortions to share their experiences. She presented preliminary results that showed a high level of engagement both qualitative and quantitative and walked us through the process of creating community norms and standards. Review her whole slide deck here.
